Hello and welcome to longsutton.net. We're Phil and Sue Heenan and we live just on the outskirts of Long Sutton having moved here in August 1996. The reason for this page is to tell you a little about us and the reasons that we set up the site.

My background is in Sales, Sales Management and Marketing - something in the region of 30 years! and Sue is in Administration. Together we try to bring together the skills we've acquired over the years to make this site successful.

When we moved into the area we found it difficult to find local tradesmen and businesses and, like a lot of people moving into that area we had jobs elsewhere - Wisbech and Peterborough so that the amount of spare time we had in Long Sutton was limited.

We also use the Internet a lot and did some digging to find out about Long Sutton and there really wasn't a lot. So in October 2005 we set up the site to promote the town. The site would also act as a showcase for businesses including shops in the area.

We thought if we did a good job for our advertisers that they'd want to come back to us every year. After a slow start the site took off - we get a good stream of visitors and high rankings with search engines like Google.

The site is a commercial site in as much as we sell adverts (at a very low price!) but we have an open door policy - anyone involved in a not for profit organisation in the Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge area can have a completely free web page (With our adverts on).
